With one third of a mile of artificial alpine tracks, and the only half pipe in the whole of the UK, the Ski village is a great place to learn how to ski and snowboard. Enjoy a slide down the toboggan track or relax on the balcony with a drink in your hand and take in the stunning view of Sheffield.

Sheffield Buddhist Centre

Classes: The centre offers all sorts of classes from lunchtime meditations to bodywork classes such as Tai Chi, Yoga and Chi Kung.
The Sheffield Buddhist centre is set in two acres of garden and has a light and airy ‘Great Hall’ inside. Holding host to practising Buddhists, it’s a friendly and relaxing place that welcomes newcomers to learn about meditation and Buddhism. They offer two different forms of meditation including Mindfulness of Breathing (that helps to inspire deep wisdom and escape from the clutter in your head) and the Metta Bhavana (which helps you to develop warm and loving emotions.)
Offers: There’s a six week course to introduce newcomers into the world of meditation and Buddhism. It begins on Wednesday January 19th and runs fromm 7.30pm to 10.00pm every Wednesday. The recommended donation for this is £20-£40.

Rother Valley Country Park

Rother Valley is a beautiful 740 acre park that has just about everything for an active and exciting day out. Five lakes are spread across the park, the largest being a whopping one mile long, which are used for watersports such as sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. If nature’s your thing, then why not catch yourself some carp in the fishing river, or try your hand at bird-watching and try to spot the 260 different species of bird recorded within the site. With archery, cycling and a miniature train also dotted around Rother Valley Country Park won’t fail to impress.
